NYK History

Independent goalkeeper glove brand · New York City, NY, United States · Founded 2020

NYK was born in New York City in 2020, during the pandemic lockdowns, when a team of former goalkeepers began sharing drills and tips on social media. That following grew into a glove brand, and NYK registered as an official brand in 2021 with its first professional-level gloves.

The brand expanded quickly into Latin America, starting with Colombia, Venezuela and Paraguay. NYK says it sold more than 1,500 gloves in Colombia in its first year and more than 2,000 in Paraguay in 2024.

Its ambassadors have won several professional titles. Sandra Sepúlveda won a league title in Colombia in 2022, which NYK says made it the first goalkeeper glove brand to win a professional league title there, and Venezuelan goalkeeper Yessica Velásquez added another title in 2023. Aldair Quintana later won Ecuador's top league with Independiente del Valle, which NYK counts as its eighth professional title. The brand now lists 24 ambassadors in six countries.
