RANK Goalkeeping was founded by goalkeeper James Romero, who started the business at age 17. Romero came through the LAFC Academy in MLS Next and has been part of the Mexico youth national team player pool.
The brand calls itself an independent North American goalkeeper glove and equipment company. It makes gloves, bags, apparel and other gear for competitive youth, college and professional keepers, and it says its gloves have been worn in MLS, Liga MX, NCAA Division I, MLS Next Pro and the USL.
Romero has committed to play college soccer at Oregon State as part of the 2026 recruiting class.
