Athletic Road was founded in early 2023 by twin brothers. One spent about 20 years as a goalkeeper and now works as a goalkeeper coach licensed by the FIGC, Italy's soccer federation. The other spent decades working for a major Italian fashion house.
The brand promotes Italian design and says each pair of its gloves is handmade with professional German latex. Its range has grown to include padded goalkeeper leggings developed with former Serie A goalkeeper Enrico Cavalieri.
